About

Kisha Johnston, IBCLC

I have been supporting families from pregnancy, through the first years of parenthood since 2012. I obtained my IBCLC after taking 95 hours of lactation specific education while gathering 1000 hours of experience supporting families in the area of lactation. My mentors were midwives and an RN IBCLC. I learned so much from the professionals and the families I had the privilege of working with. In 2015 I trained as a birth doula through DONA International and attended births for 2 years. I graduated in 2016 with a BS in Human Development and have extensive training in adult education. All of this has prepared me to help you overcome the challenges that come with feeding a baby.

My “why” for supporting families is to empower parents! I want your babies to eat and for you to grow in your confidence. Birth and Parenting is a vulnerable experience. I will support you through the transitions as you gain confidence learning to listen to your body and care for your baby. I believe there is more than one right way. As we work together, you will find your right way.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my kids in local parks. We enjoy music in the parks during summer along with camping and hiking. My husband is a musician and we frequent his performances when they are all ages.

Kisha is available to speak about feeding and normal baby behaviors at support groups, prenatal groups, parent groups or other community gatherings. Inquire today!
